Coordinated by saxophonist Master Sergeant Audrey Cupples, the concert will begin with a clarinet trio by Jacques Bouffil and include Paul Hindemith’s Plöner Musiktag, 1932: “Morgenmusik,” Bohuslav Martinu’s La revue de cuisine, and Silvestre Revueltas’ Homage to Federico García Lorca (1935).

“My goal was to program a lot of different types of music-totally different than anything we normally do,” Cupples said. “The program will end with a composition by Bill Chase titled ”˜Bochawa.’ It highlights the trumpet with a rock and roll feel and includes an electric euphonium. People will be singing their way out!”

The concert will also include Heitor Villa-Lobos’ Sexteto místico, influenced by traditional Brazilian street music, and the première performance of Léo Delibes’ Flower Duet from Lakmé, arranged by Charles Gallagher.
